COPTS ABROAD
Many Places. ONE Church.
Canada
One of the major areas of the Coptic Diaspora, there is an estimated 35 000 Copts living in Canada and approximately 70 churches. The first Coptic church in Canada was St. Mark's Church in Toronto in 1964, which was also the first Coptic parish opened in North America, and the first one established in the Coptic Diaspora. This is different from the first Coptic church, which goes to St. Mark's Jersey City. There are two separate dioceses in Canada - East and West, as well as the Archdiocese of Toronto in the middle.
