Welcome!
Around 50 AD, St Mark the Evangelist established the Church of Alexandria. By the 1950s, the first Copts began emigrating out of Egypt, escaping a period of increased persecution and lack of opportunity. In Canada, the US, Europe, Australia, Kuwait, and other countries, small communities began to flourish. Parishes would be established, churches built, services organized, and populations grew. Today, there are Coptic churches, missions, and services on every continent and in dozens of countries all over the world. Being Coptic is no longer limited to a place or language, and we need our maps and resources to reflect that. Click here if you're a history nerd and wanna read more.

Copts Abroad aims to provide a resource for anyone looking to connect to a Coptic Community near them. Whether that be moving away for school, visiting an unfamiliar place, or being unsure of what local services are available to you, Copts Abroad wants to make the process a bit easier. The Mission
Just a note, these maps only include established Coptic Orthodox churches. There are hundreds more less-conventional communities and other Oriental Orthodox churches not included on these maps, including the Eritrean, Ethiopian, Syriac, Indian, and Armenian Orthodox, who share the same dogma as the Copts, allowing us to partake of the sacraments in those churches.
And of course, we share One Body in Christ with all our fellow Christians, and all of mankind are Sons of God. God is everywhere.
